Abstract Submission is now Closed!

We invite you to submit an abstract for consideration in the conference program. Abstracts will be reviewed and presented within the program and published on the conference website along with the full papers from the participants who wish to submit under the “full paper” guidelines. Under the conference theme From Rhetoric To Reality; The Unexpected Opportunity we invite abstracts which address: the following themes

• OPPORTUNITY – responding to old challenges in a new way
• CHALLENGES - exploring how we deal with and manage change, future planning and external impacts.
• LEADERSHIP – aimed at high level leadership and for the managers
• TECHNOLOGY – blended learning, on-line services, innovation, opportunities
• STRATEGIC ALIGNMENT – service delivery, organisational strategy and implementation
• PROPERTY, INFRASTRUCTURE AND SUPPORT SERVICES - Built Environment Optimisation, Asset & Facilities, or Strategic Asset Management
• ENGAGEMENT – the staff and student experience

Participants will be able to submit their interest under three categories:

1. Oral with Full Paper – this will require delegates to submit an abstract and, if selected, a full paper MUST be prepared and is subject to peer review.

2. Oral Only - this will require delegates to submit an abstract and, if selected, a power point presentation only is required.

3. Poster - this will require delegates to submit an abstract and, if selected, a poster is to be prepared and displayed for the duration of the conference. At least one author must be present on the day of poster defense.

All oral presentations will be 50 minutes in length including questions and answer time. Powerpoints must be submitted in 16:9 format. Please read the following instructions carefully before preparing your abstract. All abstracts must be submitted via the conference website. Go to the Abstracts page and click on the “submit abstract” button or connect from the home page. All accepted abstracts will be published in the conference handbook exactly as they are submitted and MUST NOT be exceed 750 words in length. Abstracts will not be proof read or edited by the conference managers or conference organizing committee It is the responsibility of the presenting author to ensure that the abstract is submitted correctly. The conference managers will not be held responsible for abstract submissions not received via the online submission process, or for submission errors caused by internet service outages, hardware or software delays, power outages or unforeseen events. Faxed or mailed abstracts on diskettes/CD will not be accepted. If you are unable to submit via the website please contact the conference managers via email: [email protected] You will be required to submit all authors biographies when submitting your abstract please ensure that biographies are written in the third person. Authors whose papers are accepted for inclusion in the conference program will be advised by 19 May 2016 and will at that time receive detailed instructions regarding the requirements for full paper submission, if applicable.

Poster Presentations

Participants wishing to submit an abstract for a visual poster display instead of an oral paper will need to ensure that their actual poster display does not exceed 1.5m high x 0.95m wide. These will be mounted on a panel in the Trade Exhibition area, with relevant poster defence time allocated in the program. Full poster preparation guidelines will be provided to interested parties on the conference website.

Full Papers

For participants submitting under the Oral with Full Paper category, a full paper is required and will be archived in the National Library of Australia and may be considered for publication in the Journal of Higher Education. The full paper must be submitted no later than 1 August 2016. A template for the preparation of full papers can be downloaded here.
